Causeway Forge
No headshots. No buzzwords.

Built by the person who answers the phone.

I’m Alex. Causeway Forge is my studio, in County Armagh — deliberately small, and built so you’re never handed to somebody else.

A Northern Ireland studio building WordPress sites for businesses that need them to actually work — not just exist. Building since 2017. Still returning calls.

The short version

This studio started because too many good businesses were paying real money for sites that looked fine on a designer’s screen and fell apart on a three-year-old Android.

Northern Ireland has brilliant small businesses. They deserve better than that. So we built a studio — deliberately small — that does things properly, and stays reachable after the invoice clears.

The terms

How this actually works.

  1. We work with a small number of clients at a time.

Not preciousness — arithmetic. Doing fewer things properly beats doing many things adequately. Every project gets full attention, and if we can’t give it that, that’s said before any money changes hands.

  2. We turn work down.

If the budget doesn’t match the ambition, that conversation happens early, not after a deposit. Saying yes to everything ends badly — and it ends badly for the client first.

  3. You own everything.

Your domain is registered in your name. Your content is yours. Your site sits on a private managed server, not shared hosting — and if you ever leave, everything goes with you. No hostages.

  4. The infrastructure background is the point.

This studio came out of network infrastructure — the discipline of systems that have to stay up, and of being the person who gets called when they don’t. That’s not a separate career sitting beside this one. It’s the reason your site runs on a server we manage ourselves instead of a shared box in a datacentre we’ve never seen.

Priorities

Not the output. The outcome.

  • That the site works.

Not just looks good on a designer’s screen — actually works. On phones, under poor signal, for the person who has never touched a website and is trying to find your phone number at 7am on a Tuesday.

  • That you understand what you’ve paid for.

No jargon, no mystery, no “it’s complicated.” If we can’t explain it plainly, we don’t understand it well enough yet. You should leave every conversation knowing exactly where things stand.

  • That the problem is actually solved.

Not managed, not worked around — solved. There’s an almost unreasonable need to close loops in this studio. It makes us extremely useful when your site breaks on a Saturday.

The record

Work we built years ago is still running today — sites launched long before this studio had its current name, still live, still doing their job. That’s the measure we trust: not what a portfolio screenshot looked like on launch day, but whether the thing still works years later.

What everything costs is on the site, not behind a form.

The selected archive

That’s it, really.

If that sounds like the kind of studio you want building your site — tell us what you’re building. One conversation. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can help, and if we can’t, we’ll point you toward someone who can.
