What happens to your information.

This page explains what happens to your information when you use this website. It is written in plain English rather than legal language, and it is not legal advice.

Who we are

Who we are.

Causeway Forge is run by Alex T, trading as Causeway Forge, from County Armagh, Northern Ireland. We are the data controller for this site — we decide what happens to anything you send us through it.

To ask what we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it, email dcontroller@causewayforge.co.uk. That address exists for exactly that purpose.

What we collect

Nothing, unless you contact us.

This site sets no cookies on a normal visit, runs no analytics, and carries no tracking scripts, no embedded fonts and no advertising pixels. Every file comes from our own server, with one exception: the contact page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that submissions come from a person rather than a bot.

There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

If you fill in the contact form, we receive and store the name, email address, website address and message you type, along with your browser and device type, the page you submitted from, and the date and time.

We do not log your IP address.

That information is stored in this website’s own database, on our server.

What we do with it

Answer you. That’s all.

We use it to answer your enquiry and to carry out any work that follows. That is all.

We don’t sell or share your details. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not run follow-up sequences. If the answer is no, that is the end of it.

Processors

Who touches it, and where.

We keep this list complete rather than comfortable. These are the companies that can technically access data from this site, what they do, and where they do it.

IONOS SE — the server this website runs on. EU data centre.

RunCloud (RunCloud Sdn Bhd) — server management panel, and off-site backups. Malaysia; may process data inside and outside the UK and the EU.

Duplicator Pro — the backup software on our own server. It writes an encrypted backup, which we copy to our own machine and then delete from the website. The people who make the software never receive it.

Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) — transactional and list email. European Union: France, Belgium and Germany.

Cloudflare, Inc. — spam protection on the contact form. Your browser contacts Cloudflare when the contact page loads, so Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser information. US-headquartered and operating globally; processing is not limited to the UK or EU.

If we send email through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris), they process that data on servers in the European Union (France, Belgium and Germany). We use it to deliver messages you send us and, if you join a list, to send email you asked for.

Backups of this site are copied off-site by RunCloud, and may be stored outside the UK and the EU. RunCloud publishes its data-processing agreement at runcloud.io/legal/dpa and its GDPR statement at runcloud.io/legal/gdpr.

Retention

How long we keep it.

We keep contact-form messages for 12 months, then delete them — unless we still need them for a live project or to meet a legal duty.

Daily backups, kept for 7 days, then deleted.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time and we will.

Cookies

No cookies, no banner.

This site sets no cookies for ordinary visitors.

If you log in to the site as an administrator, WordPress sets cookies to keep you signed in. That applies to us, not to visitors.

The contact page has one exception, and it is not a cookie. Cloudflare Turnstile stores a single value — cf.turnstile.u — in your browser under challenges.cloudflare.com, not under this domain. It records that a check was passed. We do not set it and cannot read it. Because it is stored under Cloudflare’s domain, it is the same value on any other site that uses Turnstile. You can clear it through your browser’s site-data settings.

Your rights

What you can ask us for.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email dcontroller@causewayforge.co.uk and we will deal with it.

If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this changes.

If this page changes we will update the date at the top.
